Christmas Time By Eric Schulte Characters: Striker Phoenix Cody McDowd Nala Chavo Lily Dylan Alethia Setting: Striker walks to his kitchen and calls Phoenix. Striker dials Phoenix’s phone number. Striker: I hope she’s in. Phoenix answers her phone. Phoenix: Hello? Striker: Phoenix this Striker. Phoenix: Oh, hey dear, what’s up? Striker: Did you check with the invited guests to see if they can make it? Phoenix: Don’t worry sweety. I checked and they all said that they’ll be there. Striker: Ok, just making sure. Phoenix: Don’t worry Striker. No matter what happens this will be a great Christmas party and sleep over. Striker: (Smiles) Ok. I’ll see you soon. Bye. Phoenix: Bye. Striker hangs up with Phoenix. He goes to his living room and begins to set up for the party. He pulls out refreshments, gets his stereo ready, and makes sure that he has comfortable beds for his guests to sleep on. It is 8:00 pm and Striker is ready for the guests. The doorbell rings and Striker peeks through the peephole. He sees Cody and Nala. Striker: What’s the password? Nala: Merry- Cody: Christmas. Striker: Correct, you may enter. Striker allows Cody and Nala to enter. They take a seat on the couch. Cody: So what do we do with these gifts? Striker: You may place them under the tree over there. While Cody and Nala place their gifts under the tree the door bell rings once again. Striker goes to see who it is and it turns out to be Dylan and Alethia. Striker: What’s the password? Dylan: Happy- Alethia: New year. Striker: You may enter. Striker allows Dylan and Alethia to enter the house. Alethia: Hey Nala whatís happening? Nala: Nothing yet, you? Dylan: Yo, Cody, how’s it going man? Cody: Pretty good. How about you? Dylan: Same here dude. Alethia: Striker, where shall Dylan and myself place these gifts? Striker: Under the big tree over there. Alethia and Dylan place their gifts under the tree. Cody: Hey, you have you been using the tree as bathroom? Everyone laughs while Striker blushes. Striker: Very funny. Once again the door bell rings and this time itís all the remaining guests, Chavo, Lily, and Phoenix, arrive. Striker: Whatís the password Chavo and Lily? Chavo: Striker is- Lily: A sweet heart. Striker: (Giggling) You may enter. Pheonix, what’s our secret hands shake? Phoenix: This. Phoenix smooches Striker on his fuzzy lips. Striker: Welcome to the party. But before I forget. Striker looks directly at Cody who was drinking some soda and talking with Nala and Alethia. Striker: Cody, just to let you know, I forgive you for joking with me about the tree thing. Come here and give me a hug. Cody: Ok. Cody approaches Striker. Striker goes from hugging stance to putting Cody in a headlock and gives Cody some noogies. Strikeer: Nooooogggggiiiiieeeeesssss! Cody: Striker you trickster. Striker: Pay back is a mother. Dylan: A-man to that. Phoenix: Letís get this party started. Striker: Howís about a karyokee jam? Chavo: Ok. Striker and the others head down to the basement. Striker: Ok, here are the rules. Each of you will pair up with your mate. The first group to go of course will get up and sing for us. Here’s the catch, your mate will choose the song. Not only must you sing it, but you must dance like the singer. Nala: This should be fun. Alethia: Any song? Striker: Any song. Dylan: We havenít even started and I’m already nervous. Cody: You and me both. Chavo: Well, let’s do this. I just hope I don’t humiliate my self. Striker: Let’s begin. The teams are paired as followed: Cody and Nala, Chavo and Lily, Phoenix and Striker, and Dylan with Alethia. Striker: Cody, your first. Nala, choose a song. Nala: I want you to sing One more time by Britteny Spears. Cody: Ah geeze. Do I have to? Alethia: Yes you do. Cody: Ok, but let warn you, it isn’t going to be pretty. The music begins. Cody: Oh baby baby, how was I supposed to know? Oh baby baby, I shouldn't have let you go. Everyone begins to laugh and cheer him on. Phoenix: You have to dance like her too. Cody: Ok, 1 sec. Cody takes a piece of rope and sticks it in his head making it look like he was wearing pigtails. Cody: Give me a siiign! Hit me baby one more time. The music stops. Cody: Now that was the weirdest thing I have ever done. Nala: Ha ha! I beg to differ, I think it was the funniest. Striker is laughing so hard that falls on his back. Striker: Ha ha! I think Iím about to have a heart attack. Alethia: (Giggling) That was very good. Who's next? Striker: Nala. Cody: (Grinning) Sweet. Nala: What would you like me to sing? Cody: Hmmm. I want you to sing YMCA by the village people. Nala: Man, how did I know you were going to make me sing YMCA. Chavo: It’s no secret that you hate that song. Lily: Doesn't she have to do the YMCA dance? Striker: I'm afraid so. Cody: Lights! Dylan: Camera! Alethia: Action! The music begins. Nala: It's fun to stay at Y-M-CA. It’s fun to stay at the Y-MCA AAA. Everyone cracks up laughing as they watch Nala do the YCMA dance. Phoenix: (Laughing) Cut. Nala you looked so silly. Nala: Well, I really didn't remember the dance very well. Cody: It's ok. I didn’t do to well either. Dylan: Striker, your next. Striker: Ok. Striker approaches the stage. Phoenix: Sing for me "The time of my life" from the movie "Dirty Dancing". Striker: All right, I’m going to need a little help with the dancing. Cody I know you know the steps. Come on up. Cody: Well, I don’t-ok. Cody approaches the stage. And the music plays. Cody and Sriker soon begin to dance like Patrick Swayze. Instead of laughing the gang cheers them on. Phoenix: Yeah, work it baby! Nala: Go Cody1 Chavo: I wish I could dance like that. Striker: And I, had- the time of my life! It's the truth, and I oh it all to you. The music stops and Striker Cody get a round of applause. Cody: Phew! What a rush. They continue to jam to the Karyokee machine until late that night. They have some refreshments and begin a conversation. Striker: So Cody: Do you plan on being a father at all? Cody: Yeah, I do. I’m just waiting for the right women whoís willing to be a mother and a loving wife. Chavo: Same here, but... Nevermind. Dylan: What? Chavo: Do you think it's physically possible for a 7 footer to, you know. Dylan: I believe so. Cody: I'd like t stay and chat but, I'm bushed. Striker: (Yawning) Me too, it's pretty late any way. Alethia: Well 3:00 am is late. Good night every body. Cody: Good night. Every body heads to their designated guest room except for Phoenix and Striker. Phoenix: You know striker, you really how to party. Striker: Why thank you. Phoenix: I don't believe I have a room to sleep in and I can't stand sleeping on a couch. Striker: (Smiling) How's about you sleep in my bed with me tonight. Phoenix: (Smiling) Ok. Striker and Phoenix turn in for the night. On Christmas morning everybody woke and rushed to the Christmas tree where they exchanged and opened gifts. Cody: What a Christmas this turned out to be. I mean we're all together, happy , and cheerful. Nala: Merry Christmas every body. Striker: Merry Christmas. And a Happy early new year. The End
