Road Rovers: Reich of Franco

Episode 1: Dark Encounter

The year is 1979 (that's 198 dog years before "The Iron Fist") and the 
Cold War has not yet begun to thaw. The relations between the United 
States of America and the Union of Soviet Socialists Republics is still
very poor, the Road Rovers have not yet been thought of and currently,
the United Nations is struggling with a wave of recent thefts of nuclear
weapons by a group of unknown terrorists. This is the story of the reich
of General Franco and the birth of the Road Rovers.

Missile Storage Facility
Utah, United States of America
12 August 1979
10:14 PM:

This is a large facility somewhere in the Nevada Desert. Two soldiers
are patrolling the gate. An group of APC's and truck approach the 
facility and stop at the gate. Their faces cannot be seen. The
soldiers walk up to the vehicles.

Soldier:"ID?"

A gloved hand gives a document to the soldier. He reads it, then hands it 
back to the figure.

Soldier:"Okay. You can pass."

The soldiers open the gate and the APC's and trucks drive in. They
soon stop near the missile storage bay. An angry sergeant walks up
to one of the trucks.

Sergeant:"What the h*** are you doing?! Get these pieces of junk
          outta here!"

The figure pops his head into the light and the sergeant stops in
his tracks. His angry face is quickly filled with sheer fright. 
The driver is a wolf-sapien.

Wolf:"You were saying?"

The sergeant runs away, but the wolf shoots him in the back. Next
the APC's open up and dozens of wolf-sapiens dressed as military
soldiers climb out. On their uniform are insignias: a silver star
with two AK-47's crossed over it. Before the base personnel can 
react the wolf-sapiens overrun the entire base. When the base is 
secured the leader walks up. It is Oqulus, except he is much younger,
still has both eyes and is currently a sergeant. He points at the 
missile storage bay.

Oqulus:"Get the warheads on the truck and plant the explosives!"

Soldiers:"Yes, sir!"

The soldiers do as they are ordered. While one half loads the 
warheads onto the trucks the other half plants detonators in the
facility. Soon Oqulus and his soldiers are finished and leave
the base. They stop some distance away from the base and a soldier
hands Oqulus a detonator. He pushes a button and the entire base
erupts into a fireball. When it is gone all that is left of the 
base is several large craters. The KH trucks and APC's drive 
away.

Voster Estate
Cape Province, South Africa
11 November 1979
3:34 PM:

This is a large plot of land with a mansion. The garden as well as
the mansion is well kept and looks great. Maska is busy working in
the gardens. He then heards a car coming towards the house and 
looks down the roadway. A Mercedes drives up to the mansion's
garage and stops. Gerard Voster and his old brother, Pieter, climb
out of the car. Gerard is a human male of about twenty-one, has
black hair, green eyes and is reasonably good looking. Pieter is
about five years older than Gerard is. Maska waves at them. 

Maska:"Hello, Master Pieter."

Pieter:"Hello, Maska. Are my Mother and Father back yet?"

Maska:"Nee. They haven't returned yet."

Pieter:"Oh well. Thank you, Maska."

Gerard and Pieter walk into the house and into the living room. Gerard
turns the television on.

Gerard:"Let's see what the latest business news is."

They both sit down as CNN news appears on the TV screen. An anchor 
reads the headline news.

Anchor:"Another terrorist attack has taken place on American soil. A
        nuclear weapons train was attacked by unknown terrorists. 
        Sources say the terrorists attacked the missile train, killing
        everyone present on the train. Pentagon officals are unwilling 
        to comment on the nature of the terrorists or to which faction
        or nation they belong to."

Gerard:"Not again. It seems that the 'great superpowers' are letting
        these terrorists run about everywhere and stealing nuclear
        bombs."

Pieter:"If this carries on, the Americans and the Soviets won't be
        only superpowers about." 

Gerard:"The business section is coming up."

The CNN financial reporter gives the main business news.

Reporter:"Shares in electronic equipment have risen again for the third
          time this week. Shareholders are gaining huge returns on their
          investments on this share."  

Gerard and Pieter smile at each other.

Pieter:"Told you that investing in that share would have great returns."

Gerard:"You were right. My money has been well invested. How did you
        know that share would rise like that?"

Voice (from behind):"That is what I would like to know too."

Gerard and Pieter look around and see Michelle standing at the living
room doorway. She is a beautiful female human wearing a pretty dress.
She and Pieter walk up to each other and kiss long and passionately.
Gerard covers his eyes in embarresment.

Gerard:"Please, not in front of me. Save it for the wedding."

Michelle and Pieter stop kissing and look at Gerard.

Pieter:"Hey. You will one day kiss like this too."

Gerard:"And next you are going to tell me how to clean my room.
        Besides, you will have plenty of time to kiss in private." 

Michelle:"He's right, Pieter. Anyway, you still need to tell us
          how you knew about that electronics share." 

Pieter:"I got the advice from a corporate mongul I temporarily
        work for. I haven't seen him, but he is quite the business
        man."

Gerard:"And what is his name?" 

Pieter:"Malcolm. He's the CEO of a company called Malcolm Industries.
        I am to meet him tomorrow for a business lunch in George."

Michelle:"And two days from now we'll be married."

Pieter and Michelle look lovingly at each other.

Gerard:"Not again."

He gets up and leave the room just as Pieter and Michelle kiss again.

Warehouse
Town of George
12 November 1979
9:01 PM:

This is a normal warehouse in the industrial area of the town. Pieter's
car pulls up and stops. He gets out, takes out his suitcase, locks the
Mercedes and heads for the warehouse door. He opens it and goes in. 
Inside there a large number of crates and only one light illuminating
an open part of the warehouse. Pieter walks into the edge of the 
circle of light.

Voice (from darkness):"Pieter Voster, I presume?"

Pieter looks towards the opposite side of the circle. Two figures can
be seen in the darkness.

Pieter:"That's me. And you are Mister Malcolm?"

Voice:"Correct."

The two figures walk into the light. Pieter becomes surprised who
he sees. It is Malcolm and Black. Both are younger. Black is wearing
a typical military uniform. His rank is Captain. Pieter then smiles
and laughs.

Pieter:"Coming in disguise, né?"

Black:"Very funny."

Malcolm:"Actually, these are not disguises."

Pieter:"Look, I have no time for games."

Malcolm:"Games, is it? You come over here to Black and try to remove
         his disguise."

Pieter:"Sure."

Pieter walks up to Black and pulls his ears.

Black:"Ow!"

Pieter then pulls his cheeks.

Black:"Are you quite finished?"

Pieter, realising that something is wrong, then opens Black's mouth.
He looks down it. He then holds his hand in front of Black's nose
and feels the hot air coming from his nostrils. Realization fills
Pieter's face and he backs away.

Malcolm:"Not a game anymore, né?"

Pieter:"Wha.. What do you want?"

Malcolm:"We were for a business lunch, so let's not waste anymore
         time."

Another light goes on. A table with some food and surrounded by
human bodyguards in black suits are illuminated. Malcolm walks
up to Pieter and puts his hand on his shoulder.

Malcolm:"Come. Down to business."

Malcolm, Pieter (reluctantly) and Black walk to the table, sit
down and begin their meeting.

Main Hallway
Voster Estate
18 November 1979
2:30 AM:

This is a long, well decorated hallway with many doorways that
ends in a stairway. Pieter quietly opens the door, walks in and
closes it again. He begins to tip toe down the hallway.

Voice:"Welcome back."

Pieter looks towards one of the dooways. Gerard, now wearing some
pajamas, is standing here.

Pieter:"What are you doing up so late?"

Gerard:"I woke up after rolling off my bed. I tried to go back to 
        sleep but then I heard your car pull up. So I decided to
        come down and ask you how was your business lunch. So now
        I ask you: how was your business lunch?"

Pieter looks around nervously, then pulls Gerard into the living
room. They sit down.

Pieter:"There is something wrong with that Malcolm person."

Gerard:"What?"

Pieter takes a picture from his suitcase.

Pieter:"This is Malcolm and one of his bodyguards, Black."

He hands the picture to Gerard who begins to look at it. He then
looks up to Pieter.

Gerard:"This is a joke, right?"

Pieter:"No. This is real."

Gerard:"Impossible. This... this is impossible. Malcolm cannot
        possibly be... a wolf."

Pieter:"I'm afraid it's true. What's worse is for whom Malcolm
        works for and what they are doing here in South Africa."

Gerard:"For who is he working?"

Pieter:"He works for General Franco. I don't know anymore than
        that about him. What's more, they are here to steal our
        nuclear bombs."

Gerard thinks for a moment, then his eyes widen.

Gerard:"Call me insane, but do you think that this General Franco
        person is actually responsible for all the recent thefts 
        of nuclear stockpiles around the world?"

Pieter:"I thought so myself, and I think I should expose these
        terrorists before they leave the country."

Gerard:"Certainly not now, with the wedding only tommorrow."

While they are talking a camera lens focuses itself in the eye of
a ceramic dolls sitting on a shelf above the fireplace.

Clearing 
Not far from the Voster Estate
at that moment:

A Mobile Communications Truck is standing here. It's rotating dish
picking and sending the signals of the camera in the mansion. Inside
is Black, Malcolm and some KH officers. They are watching the 
conversation on a screen. On another screen is an image of General
Stalker. He is much the same except his fur hasn't yet turned grey
and is wearing a typical general's uniform. He too, is watching the
conversation.

Black:"I knew that Pieter wasn't the one."

Stalker:"I tried to talk to the Supreme General, but he just would
         not listen."

Malcolm:"Did he say anything about what we should do to him, sir?"

Stalker:"He said that we should..."

Another wolf-sapien appears on Stalker's screen and pushes him
partly out of the way. He is a Timber Wolf with white fur, black 
muzzle, ears, hands, feet and red eyes. He is wearing a Commondore's
uniform. This is Diehard. He looks at Stalker.

Diehard:"Ze Supreme General is ordering you to kill Pieter Voster
         undt everyone present at his wedding, yah?"

Stalker:"What?"

Diehard:"You hear me, yah? Now do it!"

He walks away, Stalker returns to his normal position and looks
at the screen.

Black:"Kill everyone?! He must be mad!"

Malcolm:"General, this is insane."

Stalker:"I know, but if it is the Surpeme General's orders, then
         so be it."

Black:"With all due respect, sir, Franco is a genuie nutcase! A 
       lunatic! H***, he'll end up destroying the KH Military!"

Malcolm:"I have to agree with the Captain, sir. He's a member of
         the lunatic fringe."

Stalker:"I know you do not appreciate him, but with his Elite 
         Guard he cannot topple his power."

Black:"That's one thing I can't deny."

Stalker:"Carry out your orders. Stalker out."

His face disappears from the screen. Malcolm turns to Black.

Malcolm:"Captain, are there any of our forces nearby?"

Black:"I can get three Hokum Helicopters in the air and at
       the wedding in less than three hours after issuing
       orders."

Malcolm:"Good. Tomorrow everyone is going to be at Mister Pieter's
         wedding. Try to get the Hokums where the wedding will be 
         held before they leave for the reception." 

Black:"Yes... sir."

They both look back at the screen. Gerard and Pieter had finished
talking and now the room is empty.

Howard University
United States of America
13 November 1979
12:01 PM:

This is one of the great universities in the United States. In the
library reading books on genetic engineering and biology is William
Shepherd (later the Master). He is about in his early twenties. Two
more students sit down at his table: Isabel (his future wife) and 
Melvin (a male computer nerd). 

Isabel:"Hello, Will."

William stops reading and looks up at them.

William:"Hello, Isabel. Melvin."

Melvin:"Hey, Will. You still busy with that thing about dogs?"

William:"Yes, I am."

Melvin:"Oh please. Turning dogs into humanoid creatures? That's science
        fiction, not fact." 

William:"Well, I believe it is possible."

Isabel:"So do I."

Melvin:"I think it's crazy. Do you really think you can do that?"

William:"Yes. There is strong possibility and I think it can be done
         with the right tools."

Melvin:"For what reason, Will?"

William:"For the benefit of mankind."

Melvin:"Come on. Even if this is possible where are you going to get 
        funds for such a project? And if you do get funding, what 
        guarantee will there be that the money won't be coming from 
        the Soviet Union, Cuba, Lybia, South Africa or some terrorist
        group?"

Isabel:"You're a pessimis, Melvin. You exaggerate this whole issue."

Melvin gets up.

Melvin:"Okay, I won't critize any further. But mark my words Will:
        you will live to regret it, big time."

Melvin leaves the library. William sighs.

William:"I sometimes think that he is right about what he said."

Isabel:"Ignore him, Will. I think you will one day make your dream
        come true and it will be for the better."

William:"Thanks, Isabel. I can always count on you."

Isabel:"See you later, Will."

She gets up and leaves the library while William continues reading.

Clearing
Coastline, South Africa
13 November 1979
12:01 PM:

It is an open area next to a cliff overlooking the ocean. The area
is set up for the wedding. Large numbers of relatives and guests
are here. In a house at the parking lot Pieter was getting ready
for the wedding. Gerard is here as well as their parents, Hendrik
and Hannetjie. Hendrik is a large male human who is wearing a
tucxido. Hannetjie is a female human wearing a dress. Pieter is
busy looking at him and his tucxido in a mirror.

Pieter:"How do I look?"

Hannetjie:"You look perfect." 

Hendrik:"I agree. You and Michelle will make a perfect pair."

Pieter:"Oh! I almost forgot."

He turns to Gerard.

Pieter:"Would you mind going back home to get those gold lockets?
        They're on my desk."

Gerard:"Sure. Anything to skip out of the wedding."

He gets up and leaves. 

Hendrik:"That boy is asking for a spanking."

Hannetjie:"Leave him alone, Hendrik. He will one day understand."

Pieter looks at his watch.

Pieter:"It's time. We have to go."

They also leave the room.

Pieter's Room
Voster Mansion
12:32 PM:

Gerard has entered the room and walks up to the desk. He sees the
lockets and picks them up. He opens them both and sees there are
no photos inside.

Gerard:"Pieter isn't going to like this. They didn't put the photos
        in."

He closes the lockets and puts them in his pocket. He then leaves
the room.

Clearing
At that moment:

The wedding is well under way. Pieter and Michelle (now wearing a
beautiful wedding dress) are facing a Pastor. They are standing
near the cliff's edge, the Pastor's back towards it. The guests
are seated in chairs with an aisle in the center. The Pastor is  
looking at Michelle and are asking her the question.

Pastor:"Do you, Michelle, take Pieter to be your lawful wedded
        husband? To have and to hold, through sickness and in 
        good health, through good times and bad, for better or
        or for worse, for richer or poorer, till death do you 
        apart?"

Michelle:"Yes, I do."

The Pastor then looks at both at them.

Pastor:"Then by the power invested in me through the will of
        God, I hereby announce you hus..." 

The silence is broken by the sounds of rotor engines coming
from down the cliff. Everyone look towards the cliff. Suddenly
five Hokum Attack Helicopters and a Huey appear from below
the cliff and then hover in front of the wedding party. The
Huey flies closer and the left slidedoor is opened. Everyone,
but especially Pieter, is shocked at who is inside. It is 
Malcolm and Black. Malcolm has a loudspeaker.

Malcolm:"Hello, Pieter. Enjoying your wedding so far?"

Michelle turns to Pieter.

Michelle:"Pieter, who is that monster?!"

Pieter:"It's that Malcolm fellow I told you about, Michelle!"

He turns to Malcolm and shouts back.

Pieter:"What do you want, Malcolm?!"

Malcolm:"I'm afraid that my superiors think that you know
         too much and as such I have orders to terminate
         you and everyone here. Sorry."

He puts away the loudspeaker and then nods at Black. Black then
takes out a walky-talky and signals the Hokums. What happens 
next, is horrible. The Pastor is instantly gunned down by a 
Hokum and the entire wedding party scatter away. The Hokums 
go into pursuit, the guests being cut down in a hail of armor
piercing bullets. Pieter and Michelle are about to reach their
limo when a missile from a Hokum blows it up. The fragments
from the limo travel so fast that Pieter and Michelle are 
killed instantly. Hendrik and Hannetije are cut down by the
bullets of another Hokum. Another Hokum pursues some of the
guests who have gotten into their cars, blowing them up with
laser-guided missiles. One ducks under the tables at the
reception, hoping to escape death. No luck. Two Hokum strafes
the reception area with small rockets, destroying everything
in their sights. Soon the once promising wedding and reception
more resembled a battlefield, only the dead bodies are that
of civilains, not soldiers. Malcolm and Black look the scene
over and sigh.

Black:"Yet another massacre by our forces."

Malcolm:"And more pleasure for Franco. I hate this."

Black:"Me too. Soldiers, sure, but civilians? This sucks."

Malcolm:"But we have our orders. Captain Black, have some
         of your men stay here and mop up any survivors. I
         will take the next flight out of South Africa."

Black:"Yes, sir."

Black signals the helicopters. All but one fly away to the 
north. The one that remains behind lands and the two pilots
climb, their AK-47's ready. They begin to search for any
survivors.

12:57 PM:

Gerard is driving the mercedes towards the wedding area. He
sees the smoke coming from that location.

Gerard:"What the? Is there a fire?"

He keeps on driving until he comes to the wedding parking
lot. He gasps at the scene. Everywhere there were bodies and
buring, blasted or destroyed vehicles. The Hokum is also
nearby. He quickly climbs out.

Gerard:"My God! What happened?!"

He then sees Pieter and Michelle's bodies lying near the remains
of their limo. He runs over to them and checks for any signs of
life. There is none. Suddenly he hears the sound of the pilots
talking to each other. He quickly runs behind a bush and hides.
The two pilots walk into the clearing. Gerard sees them and just
barely manages to maintain both his fright and anger. The pilots
talk while they head for the Hokum.

Pilot 2:"None survived this killing. Makes me sick."

Pilot 1:"Me too. Franco's bloodlust is simply too much for me to
         handle."

Pilot 2:"So is this scene. Where do we go next?"

Pilot 1:"The captain is holding up at the power station north of
         here. We should meet him there. Let's go."
 
The pilot climb into the Hokum and minutes later take off, heading
towards their rendevouz point. When it is out of sight Gerard
appears from cover. He begins to look for his mother and father 
and soon finds their bodies. He kneels at them and tries to find
some signs of life. There is none.

Gerard:"No!"

Tears fill his eyes and he then throws his hands up in the air
and screams.

Gerard:"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

He begins to cry uncontrollably.

Study
Voster Mansion
1:23 PM:

This is a well-decorated study. Gerard is here along with two
police officers. Outside is the officer's squad car.

Officer 1:"So that's all you know?"

Gerard:"Yes. That is all I know of what happened."

Officer 2:"Is there anyone who might have held a grudge against
           you or your family?"

Gerard:"We have a few political enemies, but none that are this
        deadly. There is one... er... person who might have 
        been able to do this much damage."

Officer 1:"Who?"

Gerard:"A company CEO who is called Malcolm. My brother recently
        visited him in George. Something may have gone wrong
        during their meeting. That's all I know."

The one officer writes down what Gerard said and puts the notebook
away.

Officer 1:"Thank you for your help. We will try and bring these
           butchers to justice." 

Gerard:"Thank you."

The two officer leave the room and soon get into their car and
leave. Gerard watches them go. When they are gone he goes to
the desk and opens a drawer. He pulls out his father's Colt
Revolver and several bullet boxes. One box is filled with
silver bullets. Gerard takes one bullet and a pen. He then
writes "FRANCO" on it.

Gerard:"Franco. Whoever you are, I vow on this day that I will
        track you down and put this bullet into your head 
        for my family you have killed. So God help me."

He puts the bullet in the box and then loads the Revolver. 
He then puts the boxes into a backpack and the Revolver 
into a holster on his wraist. He then walks downstairs to
the living room and takes the family picture off the wall
and puts it into the backpack. He also puts in the lockets
(now in their boxes) and several other personal belongings.
Once he is done packing he throws the backpack over his
shoulder and walks to the door. He walks out and then
locks the door behind him. He takes one last look at the
mansion, then begins to walk down the road to the gate
on his way to the power station. And destiny.

Power Station
North of the Voster Estate
7:12 PM:

This is a large compound with many transistors, substations,
power pylons and a building in the middle. The compound is
surrounded by a fence. In the parking lot are several APC's
and trucks. The two Hokums are also here. From the darkness
Gerard appears. He puts the backpack under a bush and takes
his Revolver and some bullets. He then walks to an opening
in the fence and climbs through. He then walks towards the
main building.

Power Plant:

There are many turbines giving power to the area it supplies.
There are also catwalks, control panels and several rooms
overlooking the turbines. There are KH soldiers standing
guard. In one of the rooms the pilots are giving their
reports to Black.

Black:"Are you sure that we got everyone there?"

Pilot 1:"As far as we can tell, yes. Though we don't know if
         somebody had already escaped."

Black:"Oh well. One or two survivors aren't so bad. We just
       don't report that someone survived and Franco will
       never know." 

Just outside the room two soldiers were talking to each
other.

Soldier 1:"I'll be glad to leave this place and head back
           to Frazakastan." 

Soldier 2:"Me too. I..."

The soldier suddenly stops talking and looks up at the 
ventilations shaft above him. He makes a few gestures at
the other soldier and they aim their AK-47 rifles at the 
shaft. They both open fire, each firing at one end of the 
shaft. The shaft gives and falls apart. Gerard appears from 
under the debris, the soldiers aim their rifles at him.

Soldier 1:"Hold it right there, pal!"

Other soldiers rush up to the two and also aim their rifles
at Gerard. Black runs out of the room and to the group.
He looks at Gerard.

Black:"By Jupiter! How are you?"

Gerard:"Someone who wants revenge."

Black then recognizes him.

Black:"I know you. You're Gerard Voster, aren't you?"

Gerard gets up. 

Gerard:"Yes, I am. I want to know where Franco is."

Black:"You want to kill him for having your family murdered
       by his orders, eh?"

Gerard:"Ja."

Black:"So does quite a number of other people. You are just a
       statistic." 

He turns to the soldiers.

Black:"Kill h..."

Gerard then suddenly jumps Black and they begin to struggle. The
other soldiers try to help, but both Black and Gerard roll off
the catwalk and onto the floor. They continue struggling. In the
process Black kicks the Revolver off Gerard and into a corner
nearby. After a few moments Gerard forces Black against a wall.

Gerard:"Got you!"

Black sees a pipe above him and grins.

Black:"I don't think so..."

He then suddenly jumps and grabs the pipe. Before Gerard
can react Black gives him a kick in the chest with both
feet. Gerard reels back, trips over the trailings of 
the floor and into a turbine. Gerard is then suddenly
glued to the turbine by the electricity going through
his body. He screams in agony and Black lets go of the
pipe. Suddenly the building begins to shake as the
electrical surge goes through every turbine.

Voice:"It's going to blow!"

Black:"EVACUATE THE COMPOUND!!!"

Black, the soldiers and the pilots begin to rush outside
while Gerard continues to be electricuted. He then begins
to glow a bright blue colour and it continues to grow 
brighter until it becomes blinding. The building shakes 
more violently than before.

Power Station:

Black, the soldiers and the pilots rush to the vehicles
and quickly vacate the compound to safe distance. They 
watch as the plant shakes violently and electrical 
surges go through every pylon, transistor, substation
and fence. Suddenly a bliding flash comes from the plant,
followed by a thunderous roar as an explosion rips the
power station apart. Debris is thrown everywhere and
several of the pylons outside the compound collapse.
Once the light subdues the KH soldiers look at the ruins
of the power station. All that is now left is a large 
heap of debris and rubble. Several fires burn here
and there. Black and his men look at the remains.

Soldier 1:"Seems like that Voster guy bought it."

Black:"And so dies the last of the Vosters."

A soldier, who was looking at the remains with some
binoculars, sees something and turns to Black.

Soldier:"Captain! I think we have movement over there!"

Black looks surprised at the soldier.

Black:"You sure? What is it?"

Soldier:"Hold on, sir..."

The soldier looks back at the ruins. Back at the ruins
a heap of the rubble is moving, signalling that there was
someone under the rubble. There is some moaning from
under it. It is Gerard's voice. He then climbs out from
under the rubble, but he is no longer human. He is now
in the Cano-sapien form of a Cocker Spaniel. His clothes
are torn to shreds, but he is otherwise fine. He will now
be referred to as Striker. He rubs his head. 

Striker:"Ai yai yai. That really hurt."

He then sees his revolver lying on the ground nearby, a
bit dirty but otherwise in perfect condition. Striker
walks up to it and picks it up. While picking it up he
notices that he now has paws instead of hands and that
his skin is now covered with fur. He looks startled at
the sight.

Striker:"What the h***? What's going on with me?"

He then also notices that he has a muzzle and quickly
touches it with his hands. He begins to panic.

Striker:"No! This can't be!"

He looks around frantically for some kind of mirror
and quickly finds one. He looks at the mirror shard
and sees his cano-sapien face. At that point he screams
in utter horror at what he has become. The soldier
who was watching him, lowers his binoculars, also in
shock. Black notices this.

Black:"Did Gerard survive?"

Soldier:"Well... yes and no, sir."

Black:"What do you mean?"

Soldier:"See for yourself, sir."

The soldier hands Black his binoculars and he looks 
towards the ruins. When Black sees Striker his eyes
widen at the sight.

Black:"By Jupiter! Oh no! You have GOT to be kidding 
       me!"

The other soldiers also take out the available 
binoculars and also look at Striker, their reactions
much the same as Black's. One soldier turns to
Black.

Soldier 1:"What do we do now, sir?"

Black thinks for a moment.

Black:"I think we should capture him and take him to
       Tesla. This might interest him." 

One soldier takes out a camera with a long-range lens
and begins to take pictures of Striker. Just then he
spots the destinctive lights of police cars.

Soldier:"The police are coming!"

Black:"Damn! Let's get out of here! Quick!"

Black and his men climb back into their vehicles and
quickly drive and fly away. Back at the ruins Striker
also sees the police lights.

Striker:"No. They cannot see me. Not like this!"

He quickly goes to the bush where he has put his backpack,
picks it up and quickly runs away into the darkness just
as the police arrive.

Mobile Communications Truck
In the Mountains
8:11 PM:

Black and some officers are here. Stalker and Diehard is on 
one screen and Malcolm on the other. On another screen are 
the pictures the soldier had taken of Striker.

Malcolm:"That gives a whole new meaning to changing to
         a new identities."

Stalker:"I must say that this very remarkable."

Black:"What should we do with him?"

Stalker:"Capture him and bring him for Tesla to study. He
         would simply go crazy for such a speciman." 

Diehard:"Ignore zat order, Captain. Ze Supreme General
         has different plans for him, yah? He wants him
         out of the way."

Malcolm:"Oh? And what are you going to do? Kill him?"

Diehard:"Nein, but ze South African Police Department will."

Diehard laughs sinisterly while Stalker, Malcolm and Black
look at him confused.

Main Street
Town of George
9:14 AM:

The streets are busy with traffic and pedestrians. Shops and
large trees line the street. Among the crowd is Striker, now
wearing new clothes and a large robe over him, covering
everything except his face. People who pass him barely notice
him, thinking he's wearing a costume. A mother and her child
pass him. The child points at Striker.

Child:"Look, mom! A walking dog!"

Mother:"Leave him alone, honey. It's just a costume."

The mother and child walk on, and so does Striker, He thinks
about what the boy has said.

Striker (thinking):"If anybody here realises that this isn't
        a custome I would be in big trouble."  

He then sees a small crowd gathered in front of a shop which
sells television sets. Striker stops and joins the crowd (which
include a police officer). They are watching the news on a TV. 
The reporter is giving a report on the Voster massacre.

Reporter:"So far police have no suspects as yet for yesterday's
          massacre of the Voster family. Sources say that a
          company CEO may be behind this attack."

A paper is giving from off-screen to the reporter.

Reporter:"This just in. Evidence has been found that shows the
          person, or rather creature, responsible for the  
          massacre." 

A picture is shown on the screen and, to Striker's shock, shows
him in the ruins of the power station.

Reporter:"Police have gotten these pictures that show that a
          dog-like creature has destroyed this power plant 
          north of the Voster Estate and police have proof that
          it was responsible for the massacre. Police warn  
          citizens not to go anywhere near the creature,
          fearing it might be hostile."

The crowd then looks at Striker. One of them pulls the cover
off his head.

Man:"OH MY GOD!!! IT'S THE MUTANT!!!"

The crowd suddenly panics and so does the passersby. The officer
points his pistol at Striker.

Officer:"Hold it right there, mutant!"

Striker quickly jumps the officer and knocks him down. He then
runs down the street, closely followed by other officers who are 
taking potshots at him. He then runs down an alley, but soon
comes to a fence dead end. He frantically looks around, then sees
an old trampoline. He quickly jumps on and over the fence. He
then quickly runs away from the officers who are struggling to
get over the fence.

Junkyard
8:21 PM:

There are many car wreaks along a crane with a magnet. There 
are a few lights illuminating several opens spots. Striker
is walking here, weary and tired from being chased by the
police. He is standing on the edge of a light circle.

Voice:"Mister Voster?"

Striker looks around and quickly spots a man wearing some
kind of uniform. He is wearing black military boots, navy
blue pants and overcoat. On the overcoat pocket is the
UN insignia with the letters "EDF" under it. This is an
EDF agent. Striker looks at him.

Striker:"Who are you? And how do you know my real name?"

Agent:"I have contacts. I work for a secret department of 
       the United Nations and I have come here by orders
       to ask you something."

Striker:"What is that?"

Agent:"Would you like come and work for us?"

Striker:"Why should I?"

Agent:"The wolves that killed your family are part of a
       terrorist group. If you want you can join us and  
       help fight against them. What do you say?"

Striker thinks for a moment, then looks back at the agent.

Striker:"Ja. Ja, I will join this secret department, but
         I will only stay there until I have killed Franco."

The agent smiles.

Agent:"Good choice."

Suddenly a dart hits Striker in the neck. Striker then 
falls to the ground and passes out. Several EDF Agents
appear from cover, one of them has a tranquilizer gun.
The first agent looks at the unconcious Striker.

Agent:"Welcome aboard."

The agents then pick up Striker and his backpack and
carry him into the darkness. Fate has turned bad for 
Gerard Voster, now known as Striker. His family has been
killed, the SAPD wants him dead and worst of all, he is
now a Cano-sapien. What is this secret EDF that Striker 
has been forced into? What is this terrorist orginization?
And who is this mysterious Franco?
